After some unfortunate delays, the book about Marvis Frazier‘s life is back on track. Nearly everyone knows that Marvis’s Dad Smokin’ Joe Frazier passed away November 7th – and naturally Marvis was deeply affected, but about the time Marvis and I were re-starting our interview work for “the book”, my own Dad became gravely ill. James Walter Potter, Sr., who I considered a great man, a great father, and a great athlete in his own right, died on January 31st, 2012. So now, partly from a desire to “move on” and partly in a effort to honor our Dads, Marvis and I are going back to work on “the book” and we are going to kick it right into high gear – after all the launch date is only a little over one year away!
